DDP ACT
This project, which is conducted with teams from Brazil and Mexico in collaboration with ACT – Assessing Low-Carbon Transition, aims at developing a methodology to build, evaluate and monitor decarbonisation strategies at the company level.
ACT is a joint initiative of the Carbon Disclosure Project and of the French Energy Agency (ADEME). The DDP ACT project it is supported by the French Fund for the Global Environment (FFEM).
International climate governance
DDP enhances global climate governance, aligns with Paris Agreement goals. Engages with UNFCCC, fosters international cooperation for ambitious national actions. Emphasizes bottom-up approach, aligns international processes to address country-specific needs, bridges UNFCCC with other global forums for effective global decarbonization.
Sectoral transformations
Focused on decarbonizing shipping and steel sectors for Paris Agreement goals. Emphasizes addressing demand side in shipping and promoting green iron trade for sectoral transformations. Engages in research, policy papers, and dialogues with stakeholders for global decarbonization strategies in maritime transport and steel manufacturing.
Paradigm Shift in Finance
Urgent need for finance paradigm shift in climate action. Just Energy Transition Partnerships (JETPs) aid global south countries’ shift to clean energy while addressing social justice. Focus on country-driven finance, global cooperation, and key activities to strengthen JETPs, involving ministries of finance and international fora.

NDC Aspects
The Paris Agreement’s Global Stocktake (GST) reviews progress every five years, guiding Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). NDC ASPECTS focuses on key sectors like transport, industry, buildings, and agriculture, aiming to enhance gender-responsive NDC revisions. Through Sectoral Conversations, it collaborates with experts to create evidence-based narratives, informing global and national pathways for strategic countries. The project assesses transformation challenges, emphasizing societal, economic, political, and environmental aspects, and aims to improve international governance for sectoral climate neutrality and Sustainable Development Goals attainment.

DDP BIICS
This project, conducted with research teams from five major emerging economies aims at developing decarbonisation pathways for key sectors in Brazil, India, Indonesia and South Africa, and to stimulate public debate on this basis.
It is supported by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Government.
DDP LAC
This project aims at equipping in-country teams in Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Equateur, Mexico and Peru with tools and methodologies for the elaboration of decarbonisation pathways. Based on the expanded capacity, the secondary objective is to initiate and facilitate exchange of knowledge between researchers and decision-makers, so that the conclusions of long-term analysis are embraced in short-term policy, including in the revision of NDCs.
It is supported by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and the 2050 Pathways Platform.
