Country analysis on Long-Term Strategies in emerging economies
International – policymakers & practitioners: COP26 Special Event (7th Nov 2021, Glasgow + online) Country analysis on Long-Term Strategies in emerging economies: Lessons learnt from Brazil, India, Indonesia and South Africa on national long-term decarbonization assessments. The project’s country leads present the main policy recommendations emerging from the scenarios developed and the policy analysis undertaken with commentary from key in-country representatives.

Thinking ahead to first Global Stock Take from Africa
A three-day virtual gathering of distinguished thinkers and negotiators to nurture thinking ahead of the first GST from an African, and more generally, a perspective from the global South. The workshop was hosted by Prof Winkler of the University of Cape Town, South Africa, in collaboration with IDDRI’s DDP Initiative, and specifically, insights from DDP BIICS project, and with additional support from KAS Foundation.

Sixth Annual Meeting of the DDP BIICS project

High Level Event – Developing Decarbonisation Pathways for Industry to Inform a Just Transition in South Africa Aligned To Net Zero By 2050
This event is the first in a series of engagements that will form part of the South Africa-EU dialogue on just industrial transitions. The series aims to promote constructive discussions about decarbonisation pathways, investment opportunities and policy-related enablers for effective transitions from a business perspective.

Fifth Annual Meeting of the DDP BIICS project
The fifth meeting of the IKI-funded DDP project in emerging economies will be virtually organised the 08-10-12th March 2021, bringing together all country partners, international experts and the representatives from the 2050 Pathways Platform (online).
